The governor of the region got acquainted with the work on strengthening the dam by employees and students of the Atyrau university named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov. This dam is one of the most important defensive structures that diverts the water of the Ural river through the Saryozek canal directly into the Caspian Sea from the west - north side of the city of Atyrau. In 11 days against the threat of a natural disaster, teachers and students of the educational institution laid bags of soil on more than 2 kilometers of the 5-kilometer dam. More than 2,000 volunteer students and 200 university staff work in two shifts daily. The construction of the dam above the riverbed is serviced around the clock by the equipment and specialists of the company "JM Capital". Also in the last three days, soldiers from the "Otar" military base have arrived to help strengthen the dam. The work on the construction of a dam near the village of Almaly, which will protect our beloved city of Atyrau from flood waters, is of great importance, and will be completed in the coming days. Due to the emergency situation, the akimat of the region managed to unite all the forces of every citizen of the region, all organizations, institutions and their equipment were also involved. Our strength lies in unity! We hope that Atyrau residents will successfully complete the construction of the dam. And we will protect our beloved city from flood waters!
