The Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan, composer, professor of the Department of Music and Art of Atyrau university named after Kh.Dosmukhamedov composer Ilya Zhakanov visited the territory of Almaly rural district, where flood control work is carried out continuously. Composer Ilya Zhakanov, who witnessed the hard work, was pleased with the activities of the students building dams on the shore and gave his blessing. The professor joined the work and, together with professors, teachers, and students, was engaged in filling the bag with earth and building a dam. "The great teacher M. Auezov noted that there are three conditions for achieving a goal, first of all – desire, then – strength, then – discipline." These are all the qualities that everyone who works for the good of the country has," said professor Ilya Zhakanov. In addition, the composer performed the famous song "Yedil men Zhaiyk" ("Volga and the Urals") with the participation of the university faculty. Ilya Zhakanov also expressed gratitude and support to all teachers and students who are building a dam to protect against floods in the village of Almaly. It should be noted that veteran scientists of the university, honorary citizens of Atyrau region, poet Kadyr Zhusup, Professor Askhat Imangaliyev, professor Baktybek Taubayev, chairman of the council of veterans of the university Shahman Nagimov actively participated in the work on preventing natural disasters.
