SAYASAT NURBEK THANKED THE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS BUILDING THE DAM IN ATYRAU

Two universities are building a 10-kilometer dam in Atyrau region. As part of a working trip to Atyrau, Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek expressed gratitude and support to citizens building a dam to protect against flood waters in the villages of Almaly and Besikty. Staff and volunteer students of Atyrau university named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov and S. Utebayev university of Oil and Gas continue to consolidate the riverbed of the Zhaiyk river. 2,500 volunteer students and about 400 university staff are actively involved in the construction of the dam. "Thanks to your efforts, an important dam is being built to protect the city. As they say, the load lifted by common efforts is light. Thank you all for your selfless work and courage!”, - said Minister Sayasat Nurbek. According to the instructions of the operational headquarters established in Atyrau region, universities have completed the construction of 80% of high-rise dams protecting the settlements of Almaly and Besikty from flood waters. In the area allocated to universities, local companies are building dams around the clock to provide them with equipment. To increase the strength of the dam to flood waters, students and teachers prepare bags with accelerated filling of the soil. The operational headquarters of the universities provides students and staff with the necessary equipment, sets up warm tents, prepares hot meals and organizes buses for transportation. The construction of the 10-kilometer dam will be completed soon.
