The history of the Department of ecology begins in 2005. In General, in the history of the University, the specialty of Ecology was enrolled in 2002, and during the creation of the Department, the first graduates graduated.
The Department of ecology prepares specialties in the academic programs 5B060800-Ecology (bachelor's degree) and 6M060800-Ecology (master's degree).
For students of the specialty Ecology, classes in advanced English, Kazakh and English are held under the program "Multilinguals".
Scientific-research work of students management of the faculty of the Department organized the work of the circle in the section "ECOS", where students conduct scientific-research on course and diploma papers.

In the 2012-2013 academic year, our students took 2nd place in the Republican Olympiad.
In April of the 2013-2014 academic year, students of the ecology specialty took part in the I
National Environmental youth forum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and received I-III degree diplomas
and certificates, and were awarded a diploma For the creative and relevance of the group of ecology
specialties of Atyrau State University, who participated in the contest of video works "Ecology of
my Self" of JSC "Agency Khabar".
In the 2014-2015 academic year, students of the specialty 5B060800-Ecology took part in the II National Environmental youth forum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and received the Grand Prix and diplomas of the I-III degree.
From March 25 to 29, 2015 in Almaty at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the VII Republican subject Olympiad in ecology was held students of the specialty ecology took part in the team Olympiad "Oil region", which was awarded a diploma of the II degree for active participation in the scientific project "Ecological approach to the green economy".
