Department history

The specialty "Kazakh language and literature" was opened in 1950 in the Guryev regional teachers Institute as a 2-year specialty for training teachers of grades 5-7. Russian language, Kazakh and Russian language 2 specialties were opened at the faculty of Philology until 1956.

In 1961, the faculty of Philology trained a specialist in the specialties "Kazakh language and history", "Russian language". Due to political events in the country, the specialty "Kazakh language and literature" was closed in 1967.

In 1984, at the faculty of preschool education and primary education at the Department of pedagogy and methods of primary school, the specialty "Kazakh language and literature" was opened, the head of the Department was a candidate of pedagogical Sciences, Professor S. Kazybayuly (1984-1988)

In 1989-1990, the Department of Kazakh language and literature was established, the head of which was a candidate of philological Sciences K.O. Zhussup.

In 1990-1991, the Department was divided into the Department of Kazakh literature (head – K.O. Zhussup) and the Department of modern Kazakh language (head – K. Shaukenov). From 1991 to 2002 the Department of Kazakh literature, 2003-2005 Kazakh literature and journalism (headed by B. M. Abdeshov), 2005-2010 (head- Sadykova A. T.), 2010-2011. Kazakh Philology (head-Yeleuova A. S.).

In 1950, the head of the Department of Kazakh language and literature was candidate of philological Sciences M. Zhakypbekov, the Department included such famous scientists as M. Myshanov, Kh. Karimov, E. Utebayev, K. Shaukenuly, B. Abilkasymov, S. Kazybayev, K. Sydiykov, in the 1960s K. Omiraliev, M. Tomanov, in the 1970s A. Sadykova, Kh. Kharieva, M. Mardykova, Z.Kazmagambetova, in the 1980s M. Makhimova, M. Kozhanov, K. Zhussup, K.Aronov, D. Zhakanova, Zh. Abdrakhmanova, Zh. Zhantasov, in the 1990s M. Koptileuov, S. Dutbayeva, A. Kydyrbayeva, G. Eshanova, S. Gubaidullin, S. Baltogayeva, S. Aliyeva, G. Ayapova, S. Atashev, G. Zhumabayeva, A. Yeleuova, G. Dusipova, Zh. Mukhambetov, M. Yershuova, 2000s A. Salykova, R. Karimov, B. Abdeshov, B. The Department of modern Kazakh language has undergone internal structural changes in different years. In 1991-2001, the Department of modern Kazakh language (head-K. Shaukenov), 2002-2007, the Department of Kazakh language and teaching methods (head-G. S. Zhumabayeva), 2007-2011. (head-M. M. Abdrakhmanova, 2011-2012. Department of the Kazakh language and technology of education (head-A. Z. Salykhova), 2012-2014. (head of Zh.M. Abdrakhmanova).

In 2014-2016 In connection with the joining of the Department of Russian Philology of the specialty "Journalism", the Department of Kazakh literature and the Department of the Kazakh language were joined in 2014-2016. (head-Mukhambetov Zh. I.).

From 2016-2017 academic year, head of the Department of Kazakh language and literature, Candidate of philological sciences Yeleuova Aigul Sergeevna since September 2020, Head of the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature, Master of Philological Sciences Dautkulova A. K. Since September 2021, Ph.D., Associate Professor Abdrakhmanova Zh. M.. The scientific potential of the Department is 57.1%, the teaching staff has certificates of completion of advanced training courses in domestic and foreign universities.
