On June 14, 1950, the Guryev regional Executive Committee established an educational institution based on the decision "on the opening of the Institute of teachers in Guryev" based on the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR and the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR. The Guryev teachers' Institute had philological, physical, and mathematical departments.
In 1955, the Department of physics and mathematics was established as a faculty.
In the 1955-56 academic year, 125 students were enrolled in the 1st year. Of these, 50 are for the Russian Department, 75 are for the Kazakh Department. The number of teaching staff is growing at the faculty, in 1958, graduates of KazNU, KazNPU A. Zhalgasov, Zh. K. Bliev, A. K. Naubetov, A. M. Mostovoy, M. N. Nakonechnyi, L. I. Nakonechnaya, a graduate of the Almaty agricultural Institute Zh. M. Yesmukhanov, M. Gorky, Yu. A. Medvedov of Russia came to the team, in 1964-65, the teaching staff-graduates of KazNU Zh. M. Rashbayev, D. Zh. Zhumanova, D. Diarov, a graduate of Kazakh State Women`s Pedagogical University were also staffed by specialists T. Zh. Zhumanov and etc.
In 1960, the Faculty trained teachers of mathematics, physics and drawing of a wide profile, and then specialists in labor and machine science.
By the efforts of teachers and students of the faculty, a laboratory of mechanical engineering was built, a training workshop with woodworking, locksmiths and turning shops.
