Capstone Project final

The Casptone project is implemented by representative office of Penal Reform International (PRI) in Central Asia with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.  

This project aims to improve human rights education for students in Kazakhstan, in line with the educational goals and principles of the Capstone Project. This includes increased awareness of human rights courses and improved capacity of professors to mentor students carrying out human rights research and projects.

Throughout the year on the work platform of Atyrau University 15 research groups of senior students majorıng in Law and Journalism, developed their projects on the elaboration of topical issues in the field of human rights, humanization of criminal justice, juvenile justice, serving as the basis for future regulatory reforms, human rights projects, proposals or recommendations for improving national programs.

The evaluation of presented research development by the review panel was held on May 23 at ASU and winners selected.

Award winners include:

First place – Veritas by Tokzhan Kanat, Aishat Suleimenova and Farkhat Karapidenov. Superviser Erdeshov Zh.I. and Idresova U.Kh.

Second place – Triumph by Nurgul Koluzanova, Ainagul Tukpatova and Eric Bulekbayev. Superviser Erdeshov Zh.I.

Third place – Malenkaya strana by Ernar Kadrbay, Bekarys Kabi and Bazarbek Zhalgaspayev. SUperviser Shayakhmetova Zh.B. abd Tazhigarina B.K.

We congratulate the winner teams and look forward to their ongoing efforts to improve human rights program in Kazakhstan
