Teaching the Kazakh language in foreign educational institutions has a high status
On June 8, Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov hosted an online conference on "Teaching the Kazakh language in foreign educational institutions and studying in the native language of our compatriots". The main purpose of the event is to create conditions for the study and preservation of the language of ethnic Kazakhs abroad, expand the distribution area of the Kazakh language, and raise the status of the Kazakh language among Kazakhs abroad. The conference was moderated by Karlygash Ashirkhanova Mashtaykyzy, head of the Department of International Cooperation and internationalization.
The opening speech was given to the chairman of the management board-rector of Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov Salamat Nurmukhanuly and head of the Atyrau regional department for language development Asiya Kystaubayeva. In turn, Salamat Nurmukhanuly said: "language is the basis of education and upbringing, a means of communication, history and fate of any nation. Therefore, today's conference is of great importance. Today, the issue raised on this topic is highly supported by the state. For example, thanks to the scholarship program of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 490 places for Bachelor's degree, 50 places for Master's degree, and 10 places for doctoral studies are allocated this year. Acceptance of documents for this scholarship program takes place from June 7 to July 20. These benefits, which are organized by the Center for the Bologna Process and academic mobility of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will help our compatriots to get an education at their homeland, learn the language and traditions.
Support measures are being implemented at Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov. Our compatriots from China, Mongolia, Iran, and Uzbekistan have been studying for several years. Like all students, they are provided with comfortable dormitories with good conditions. Preparatory departments are working. Our blood students study all subjects in their native language. The university expands the opportunities of students and pays special attention to projects for blood students", - a brief overview of the plans and work done on the current topic.
Special guests of the conference were invited representatives of NAO "Otandastar Foundation" - Nurymzhan Kasymuly, chairman of the Kazakh Association in Hungary – Onisha Mandoki, chairman of the Astrakhan Regional Public Organization of Kazakh culture "Zholdastyk", director of the Institute of economics of Atsu - Ravil Karimovich, representative of the Orenburg Baiterek Foundation - Dana Sabitovna.
In a specially prepared presentation on the Zoom platform, the representative of NAO" otandastar Foundation " - Nurymzhan Kasymyuly shared the progress of activities and projects related to the scope of application of the Kazakh language, methods of fluency in the language. Onisha Mandoki, chairman of the Kazakh Association in Hungary, who took the next turn, was proud to note the great respect of the Kazakh language abroad, the state and development of education of our compatriots in their own language, and the popularization of Kazakh culture.
Among the speakers, associate professor, teacher of Muhla Sitky Kochman University Ekrem Ayan told about the peculiarities of the spread of the Kazakh language and educational programs in Turkey, candidate of philological sciences, teacher of Kazakh language and literature of the Department of Altaistics of the University of Szeged Raushangul Zakankyzy told about the scope of the spread and compliance with language norms in foreign educational institutions. The teacher of the Kazakh language of the Korkyt-Abai Cultural Center, Ph. D., associate professor Kuralai Magikyzy, created at the embassy of the state of Kazakhstan in France, emphasized the importance and role of language centers, and the teacher of the Kazakh class in Gorgan, in the Islamic Republic , Askar, noted the importance and importance of the Kazakh native language in society. Nurgul Berikbolova, a teacher of the Kazakh class in Istanbul, and Zhadyra Kadyrbekkyzy, a master's degree teacher of the Department of multilingual training of Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov, raised questions on the topic "relevance and novelty of teaching the Kazakh language to compatriots at the University".
