Meeting on the eve of the day of remembrance of victims of political repression

May 31 is the day of remembrance of victims of political repression. This day has been celebrated since 1997, when it was named the year of remembrance of victims of political repression by the decree of the head of state. One of the first laws adopted in Independent Kazakhstan is the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On rehabilitation of victims of mass political repression" dated April 14, 1993.

On May 20, Atyrau University Kh.Dosmukhamedov together with the Department of Internal policy of Atyrau region held a meeting of the working groups of the Atyrau Regional Commission for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repression. Among the participants were representatives of the Department of internal policy of Atyrau region, members of the Atyrau Regional Commission and working groups for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repression, media representatives, scientists and teachers of the University. Opening the event with an introductory speech, the moderator, vice-rector for International relations and science Batryshev Didar Galimovich, made a brief review. Azhigaliyev Sagadat Orynbasarovich, deputy head of the Department of internal policy of Atyrau region, expressed his opinion on this event.

On the agenda were discussed issues of the Atyrau Regional Commission for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repression and working groups, the methodology of the working groups of the Atyrau Regional Commission for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repression, events dedicated to the day of remembrance of victims of political repression.

The first part was given to the director of the Institute of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan, doctor of historical sciences, Professor Zhanna Kydyralina. In his report, he focused on the Atyrau Regional Commission and working groups for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repression. The purpose of the research work, divided into groups, is to prepare conclusions for the meeting of the commission, collect archival sources and other materials. The division of regional working members by name consisted of 8 groups.

The members of this group, for a specific purpose, were involved in the suppression of uprisings in the western region of Kazakhstan (1928-1932) to study, draw conclusions and acquit victims of political repression who were shot without trial or investigation, as well as those who were repressed by extrajudicial and judicial authorities for their participation and support in these uprisings; to study, prepare conclusions and proposals for the rehabilitation of victims of political repression of kulaks, rich people, semi-feudal lords and peasants; 1916-1930. research on the rehabilitation of Kazakh refugees who were forced to leave Kazakhstan during political campaigns and famine, various violent actions of the state and political repression of the authorities; research of victims of enhanced collectivization, procurement and other political campaigns of the Bolshevik-Stalinist regime against the peasants; unjustified Kazakhstanis-victims of political repression in the camps of the NKVD Gulag located in the Guryev region, as well as the development of proposals to their family members, people who personally fought for the independence and territorial integrity of Kazakhstan, as well as these ideas preparation of opinions and proposals for state prosecution and full legal and political justification for the political speeches of people, public and political organizations, official, scientific, cultural ideas; 1939-1945. It is focused on the rehabilitation of Kazakh prisoners of war detained in Nazi Germany, Finland, Europe, victims of unjustified repression of peoples and special settlers forcibly resettled in Kazakhstan; on the preparation of research, conclusions and recommendations for the rehabilitation of victims of political repression-representatives of traditional religions.

Scientists, local historians, volunteer youth, representatives of public organizations, as well as researchers of political science, spiritual consciousness, and religion took an active part in the group. In terms of quantitative and qualitative composition, each group consists of seven doctors of historical sciences, 1 doctor of philosophy, 5 doctors of historical sciences, 1 doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, 7 masters of history, 3 local historians and historians, consisting of 2-4 people. In addition, the methodology of the work of the working groups of the Atyrau Regional Commission, plans for events dedicated to the day of remembrance of victims of political repression and specific steps to be followed were announced. At the end of the event, the participants expressed their thoughts and suggestions.
